HERE AT FRESHOLOGY, WE MAKE THAT HAPPEN!

ON THE 30TH JUNE (SUNDAY), STUDENTS MOVE OUT OF THEIR ACCOMMODATION AND ON THE 1ST OF JULY, NEW STUDENTS MOVE IN.

EVERY YEAR WE GET APPROXIMATELY 70-120 PROPERTIES TO CLEAN WITHIN 24-48 HOURS. PROPERTY SIZES RANGE FROM 1 BEDS - 9 BED HOMES.

FROM THE 30TH JUNE AT 12PM, OUR CLEANING WORK STARTS. WE GET OUR LIST OF PROPERTIES ON THE MORNING AND THE FUN BEGINS!

OUR GOAL IS TO GET ALL OF THE PROPERTIES ON THE LIST CLEANED FAST & EFFICIENTLY AND EVERY YEAR WE ACHIEVE OUR GOAL.

  • £12.50 PER HOUR

  • ON THE 30TH JUNE 2024, WE GET THE FULL LIST OF ALL PROPERTIES TO BE CLEANED.

    FROM 12PM, YOU AND YOUR TEAM WILL BE SENT TO THE FIRST PROPERTY TO BEGIN THE CLEAN.

    IMMEDIATELY AFTER COMPLETING EACH CLEAN, YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED OF THE NEXT ADDRESS TO ATTEND TO BEGIN THE NEXT CLEAN. THIS WILL CONTINUE DURING YOUR SHIFT.

    ON THE 1ST JULY AT 9AM WE BEGIN THE SAME SEQUENCE AS THE PREVIOUS DAY, COMPLETING THE REMAINING PROPERTIES ON THE LIST.

  • USUALLY A TEAM WILL CONSIST OF BETWEEN 2-4 CLEANERS INCLUDING A SUPERVISOR.

    ON SOME OCCASIONS WE MAY SEND TWO TEAMS INTO ONE PROPERTY DEPENDING ON PROPERTY SIZE.

  • OUR LIST CONSISTS OF AROUND 80 PROPERTIES

  • WE EXPECT A PROPERTY WITH LESS THAN 5 BEDROOMS TO TAKE APPROXIMATELY 1.5 HOURS OR LESS.

CLEANING INFORMATION

  • YOUR EQUIPMENT & CADDY

    FRESHOLOGY WILL PROVIDE ALL OF YOUR CLEANING SUPPLIES & EQUIPMENT TO CARRY OUT CLEANING SERVICES. PLEASE REMEMBER TO PUT ALL CONTENTS OF THE THE CADDY BACK BEFORE LEAVING A PROPERTY.

    ENSURE OUR VACUUM CLEANER IS TAKEN CARE OF.

    ANY DAMAGE TO VACUUM CLEANERS MUST BE REPORTED. PLEASE AVOID VACUUMING ANYTHING THAT COULD POTENTIALLY BLOCK OR DAMAGE THE VACUUM AS WE MAY CHARGE YOU FOR REPAIRING THE DAMAGE OR REPLACEMENT.

  • KEYS

    KEYS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR EACH PROPERTY AND ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF YOUR SUPERVISOR.

  • RESPECTING PREMISES

    WE EXPECT YOU TO RESPECT & TAKE CARE OF OUR CLIENTS PROPERTY WHEN CLEANING. WE HAVE A NO LOUD NOISE POLICY WHICH MEANS, NO LOUD MUSIC FROM YOUR VEHICLE, NO MUSIC PLAYED DURING ANY CLEAN INCLUDING HEADPHONES FOR HEALTH & SAFETY PURPOSES.

    IF YOUR FOOTWEAR IS WET OR DIRTY FROM OUTDOORS YOU MUST WEAR SHOE COVERS ON ENTERING TO PREVENT ANY DAMAGE TO FLOORING.

  • PPE (personal protective equipment)

    ON EVERY CLEAN YOU MUST WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES. FRESHOLOGY WILL PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PPE SUCH AS, DISPOSABLE APRONS, FACE MASKS & FACE GUARDS.

  • WASTE REMOVAL

    DOMESTIC PROPERTIES:

    ALL WASTE SHOULD BE PUT INTO BLACK BAGS AND LEFT IN THE GARDEN OF THE PROPERTY. IF THE PROPERTY HAS NO GARDEN, PLEASE LEAVE AS CLOSE TO THE PROPERTY AS POSSIBLE BUT NOT OBSTRUCTING ANY ENTRANCES.

  • REPORTING & PHOTO EVIDENCE

    IF YOU NOTICE ANYTHING THAT MAY NEED REPORTING PLEASE INFORM YOUR SUPERVISOR. PHOTOS WILL BE TAKEN AS EVIDENCE IF ANY DISPUTE OCCUR

PLANNING YOUR CLEANS WILL ALLOW YOUR TEAM TO WORK EFFICIENTLY, WITHOUT ERRORS.

EACH TEAM MEMBER SHOULD ALLOCATE AN AREA IN EACH PROPERTY, HOWEVER WE SUGGEST ROTATING THE DUTIES BETWEEN THE TEAM.

YOUR PLAN SHOULD INCLUDE:

  • ON ARRIVAL, IDENTIFY THE DIRTIEST SURFACES/AREAS. THESE AREAS MAY NEED PRE-PREPARING BEFORE THOROUGHLY CLEANING E.G BASE OF OVENS, SHOWER SCREENS

  • OPENING WINDOWS FOR VENTILATION

  • ENSURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT PRODUCTS BEFORE MOVING TO A DIFFERENT FLOOR OF THE PROPERTY

WE CARRY OUT THREE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CLEANS FOR STUDENT ACCOMMODATION WHICH ARE SPARKLE CLEAN, DEEP CLEAN & DEEP CLEAN PLUS. A SPARKLE CLEAN USUALLY CONSISTS OF A LIGHT CLEAN AROUND THE PROPERTY REMOVING DUST AND LIGHT MARKS, WHEREAS A DEEP CLEAN IS MORE OF A THOROUGH CLEAN WITH STUBBORNS MARKS AND BUILD UP.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE INSTRUCTED TO CARRY OUT A SPARKLE CLEAN AND IDENTIFY ADDITIONAL TASKS, PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR SUPERVISOR BEFORE CARRYING OUT WORKS.

    UNDERSTANDING WHAT YOU ARE CLEANING AND HOW YOU WILL CLEAN IS VITAL. YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL WHEN WORKING TO AVOID SCUFFING OR SCRATCHING FURNITURE, SKIRTING BOARDS, WALLS ETC

  • CLEANING/ OVEN

    IN SOME PROPERTIES YOU WILL FIND THE OVENS ARE QUITE DIRTY AND REQUIRE A DEEP CLEAN, WHICH IS TIME CONSUMING. IF YOU FIND AN OVEN IS VERY DIRTY, WE ADVISE YOU NOT TO CLEAN IT.

    WITH THE FORM PROVIDED, PLEASE COMPLETE & STICK TO THE FRONT OF THE OVEN DOOR. THIS FORM LETS THE NEW TENANTS KNOW THAT WE HAVEN’T CLEANED THE OVEN AND WILL RETURN TO CLEAN IT AT A LATER DATE.

  • CLEANING/ FRIDGE-FREEZER

    PLEASE ENSURE YOU REMOVE ALL ITEMS FROM THE FRIDGE/FREEZER AND DISPOSE. ALL EXTERNAL AREAS OF THE FRIDGE (WHERE REACHABLE) MUST BE CLEANED INCLUDING THE TOP.

    IF A FREEZER IS TURNED ON - DO NOT TURN IT OFF. PLEASE COMPLETE THE FORM AND STICK TO THE FRONT OF THE FREEZER DOOR.

    PLEASE TAKE INTERNAL PHOTOS OF THE APPLIANCE.

  • CLEANING/ DISHWASHER

    REMOVE ANY FOOD, CUTLERY & TABLE AND DISPOSE.

    CLEAN THE INTERIOR & EXTERIOR INCLUDING BUTTONS

  • CLEANING/ WASHING MACHINE

    PLEASE ENSURE THERE ARE IS NO CLOTHING OR HAIR INSIDE THE MACHINE. CLEAN THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR OF THE DOOR & RUBBER SEAL. ENSURE AROUND THE BUTTONS ARE DIRT AND DUST FREE. CLEAN OUT BUILD UP FROM THE DRAWER.

SOMETIMES, WHILE CLEANING WE MAY MISS OR FORGET TO COMPLETE A TASK.

THIS CAN CAUSE A PROBLEM, AS OUR CLIENTS EXPECT HIGH QUALITY CLEANING FROM FRESHOLOGY AT ALL TIMES.

WHAT IS A RECALL?

A RECALL IS INSTRUCTED BY THE CLIENT IF THEY ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH A PROPERTY CLEAN.

OUR POLICY IS TO RETURN TO THE PROPERTY TO CORRECT THE ISSUES OUTLINED BY THE CLIENT.

IF YOUR WORK HAS RESULTED IN A RECALL, YOU WILL NOT BE PAID ADDITIONAL TO CORRECT THE ISSUES. IF YOU DO NOT RETURN TO THE PROPERTY, YOUR WAGES WILL BE DEDUCTED FOR THE TIME IT TAKES TO CORRECT THE ERRORS (HOURLY RATE)

    ONCE YOU ENTER A ROOM, YOU SHOULD START WORKING FROM THE RIGHT AND CLEAN ANTI-CLOCKWISE TOWARDS THE EXIT

    NOTE: THIS METHOD CAN BE USED FROM THE LEFT HAND SIDE & MOVE CLOCKWISE TO THE EXIT)

  • TOP TO BOTTOM

    ALWAYS CLEAN FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. START WITH CEILINGS, WINDOWS, SHELVING/CUPBOARDS AND WORK TOWARDS THE FLOOR. THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO BRING ALL THE DUST AND DEBRIS TO THE LOWEST LEVEL FOR VACUUMING.

  • DRY TO WET

    WHEN YOU HAVE TO USE WATER OR ANOTHER LIQUID TO CLEAN AN AREA OR TO PERFORM A TASK, YOU SHOULD START BY COMPLETING ACTIVITIES THAT DO NOT INCLUDE THE LIQUID AND THEN PERFORM THE ‘WET’ TASK. THIS WILL HELP AVOID SPREADING AND SMEARING THE DUST/DEBRIS

    IF YOU ARE CLEANING HARD FLOORING, YOU COULD VACUUM OR DUST BEFORE MOPPING.

  • "S" PATTERN

    THE “S” PATTERN TECHNIQUE IS A WAVE STARTING AT THE TOP OF A SURFACE, WORKING YOUR WAY DOWN TO THE BOTTOM. IT ALLOWS YOU TO COLLECT ALL THE DEBRIS AS YOU WORK DOWNWARDS.

    COLLECT ALL DEBRIS & DUST TOWARDS YOU AND USE ONE WIPING MOTION FROM THE LEFT TO RIGHT TO COLLECT ONTO THE CLOTH/SPONGE.ere

  • SURFACES

    TAKING CARE OF EACH PROPERTY IS VERY IMPORTANT. OUR JOB IS TO CLEAN WITHOUT CREATING ANY DAMAGE TO THE PROPERTY OR IT’S CONTENT.

BATHROOM

  • ENSURE THERE ARE NO HAIR IN SINKS, BATHS, SHOWERS OR ANY OTHER SURFACES. CHECK PLUG HOLES FOR HAIRS, ESPECIALLY SHOWERS.

  • CLEAN AND BUFF ALL CHROME FIXTURES & FITTINGS E.G TAPS, SHOWER HEADS, TOWEL RAILS - NO SMEARING WHERE POSSIBLE

  • CLEAN ALL REACHABLE PARTS OF THE TOILET INCLUDING THE BASE AND BACK

  • ENSURE EVERYTHING IS DRY AFTER CLEANING E.G BATHS, SINKS, SHOWER BASE

  • SHOWER SCREENS MUST BE CLEANED THOROUGHLY- SMEAR FREE

  • VACUUM AND WIPE EXTRACTOR FANS

BEDROOM

KITCHEN

  • CHECK WASHING MACHINE FOR CONTENT , HAIR AND BUILD UP

  • REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF ANY BELONGINGS IN CUPBOARDS/DRAWERS/FRIDGES (INCLUDING CLEANING PRODUCTS)

  • CLEAN ON TOP OF FRIDGES

  • ENSURE SINKS AND TAPS ARE DRY AND BUFFED

  • CLEAN EXTRACTOR FAN & FILTER

WASTE REMOVAL

  • Any belongings of the previous tenant must be removed from the property. Furniture should NOT be removed from a property, unless it is broken. If you are unsure about an item, please ask your supervisor.

    • BEDDING INCLUDING QUILTS, PILLOWS ETC

    • ANY PERSONAL BELONGINGS FOUND IN DRAWERS, CUPBOARDS OR WARDROBES

    • BOTTLES, CANDLES, PLUG INS, TOILETRIES

    • AIRERS, IRONS,

    • UNUSED ITEMS LEFT BEHIND E.G CLEANING PRODUCTS, TOILET ROLL

  • ALL WASTE MUST BE PUT IN BLACK BAGS UNLESS THE ITEMS DO NOT FIT. PLEASE DO NOT OVER FILL BAGS. LEAVE SPACE TO BE ABLE TO TIE THEM IN A KNOT.

    PLEASE PILE THE BAGS TOGETHER IN THE GARDEN. IF YOU ARE CLEANING A APARTMENT PLEASE LEAVE WASTE IN THE BIN AREA OF THE BUILDING.

HEALTH & SAFETY

HEALTH & SAFETY IS AN IMPORTANT CONSIDERTAION TO BE TAKEN WHEN PERFORMING WORK TO ENSURE ILLNESS & INJURY DOES NOT OCCUR. IT SHOULD NOT BE AN ADD ON CONSIDERATION TO THE WORK BEING DONE. IT SHOULD BE INCORPORATED IN THE WAY WORK IS CARRIED OUT.

PPE

GLOVES AND APRONS WILL BE PROVIDED. GLOVES MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES DURING CLEANING.

FIRST AID

ALL CADDY’S WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH A FIRST AID BAG CONTAINING ESSENTIALS. IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES, CALL 999 IMMEDIATELY

EQUIPMENT

ONLY SUPERVISORS HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO HANDLE SHARP TOOLS DURING CLEANING.

BREAKS

  • UNFORTUNATELY, THERE WON'T BE MUCH TIME FOR FANCY LUNCH...

  • PACKED LUNCH

    WE ADVISE YOU TO BRING A PACKED LUNCH, SNACKS AND DRINKS WHILE ON YOUR SHIFT.

    WE WILL PROVIDE BOTTLED WATER AND SNACKS THROUGHOUT THE DAY.

  • BREAKTIME

    YOU WON’T HAVE MUCH TIME IN BETWEEN PROPERTIES TO GO TO A SHOP DUE TO TRAFFIC WHICH COULD CAUSE DELAYS IN COMPLETING WORK.

    YOU ARE ENTITLED TO A 30 MINUTE UNPAID BREAK IF YOU COMPLETE A 6 HOUR SHIFT.

WAGES

  • WHEN WILL I GET PAID?

    WAGES WILL GET PAID IN TWO PARTS.

    YOUR HOURS WORKED ON THE 3OTH JUNE 2024 WILL BE PAID ON THE 5TH JULY 2024. HOURS WORKED ON THE 1ST JULY 2024 (OR ANY OTHER OVERTIME WORKED UPTO THE 31ST JULY 2024) WILL BE PAID ON THE 5TH AUGUST 2024 INCLUDING ANY BONUSES.

    YOUR SUPERVISOR WILL MAKE NOTE OF ALL HOURS WORKED.

    IF YOU WORK ON THE 30TH JUNE 2024 ONLY, YOU WILL BE PAID 50% OF YOUR WAGES ON THE 5TH JULY 2024 AND THE REMAINING 50% WILL BE PAID ON THE 5TH AUGUST 2024.

  • WHY ARE WAGES PAID IN TWO PARTS?

    IF A RECALL TO A PROPERTY THAT YOU HAVE CLEANED OCCURS, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO REVISIT THE PROPERTY TO CORRECT THE ISSUES RAISED, UNPAID. EACH PROPERTY HAS A 7 DAY COOLING OFF PERIOD, ALLOWING FOR ANY POTENTIAL COMPLAINTS. AS WE RUN OUR PAYROLL ON THE 5TH DAY OF EACH MONTH, WE ARE UNABLE TO ADHERE TO THAT PERIOD FOR RECALLS.

    THIS TWO PART PAYMENT METHOD ALLOWS US TO DEDUCT PAYMENT IF YOUR WORK ISNT COMPLETED.

    IF YOU PREFER TO HAVE BOTH DAYS WAGES PAID ON 5TH AUGUST 2024, PLEASE LET US KNOW WHEN SIGNING YOUR CONTRACT.

  • CLEANING OPERATIVE £12.50 PER HOUR

    • MILEAGE PAYMENT £0.25P PER MILE (ONLY FOR OPERATIVES USING THEIR OWN VEHICLE TO GET TO EACH PROPERTY)

    • PERFORMANCE BONUS

      BASED ON THE NUMBER OF PROPERTIES YOUR TEAM COMPLETES, MEETING DEADLINES AND QUALITY OF WORK
